सोऽहं तवानुग्रहार्थं गुहामेतामुपागत: ।
प्रार्थित: प्रचुरं पूर्वं त्वयाहं भक्तवत्सल: ॥ ४२ ॥

शब्दार्थ

- — that same person; aham — I; tava — your; anugraha — of the favoring; artham — for the sake; guhām — cave; etām — this; upāgataḥ — approached; prārthitaḥ — prayed to; pracuram — abundantly; pūrvam — before; tvayā — by you; aham — I; bhakta — to My devotees; vatsalaḥ — affectionate.

भाषांतर

Since in the past you repeatedly prayed to Me, I have personally come to this cave to show you mercy, for I am affectionately inclined to My devotees.

तात्पर्य

It is apparent from this verse that Mucukunda was a devotee of the Supreme Lord. He had prayed for the Lord’s association, and now Śrī Kṛṣṇa granted his fervent request.
